Put the seedling into the tool and pull the line handle

Place the seedling into the top opening of the tool. Pull the wire or cord handle, which opens the bottom of the tool to allow the seedling and roots to drop into the soil.

Pull out the tool from the soil

Lift the tool straight up while keeping the handle pulled if needed. The seedling is now planted in the soil, and the base closes automatically.
